so this is a bit of what i do at work in milan. hand sewing stitches on coats. its just so cool to think that someone, where ever they are in the world, is going to love this coat and buy it, with good hard earned money, and enjoy it. and i can say that i took a part in the stitches that actually show as a part of the hand made and tailored principal, as an aesthetic technique. i started thinking about that earlier this month when i had to hand stay stitch a men's suit, and after i was done and the lining was on, you couldn't see my work, but i met the client as an assistant for fitting and it was like my little secret that i had. like, "god, if only you knew that i had my hands on that suit for 4 hours hand sewing!" but i kept quiet, assisted in adjusting the lengths and such. and it turns out that he wanted a different lining for the fabric, so alas, i would be able to see my work again! ha, work is great. its these little things i feel that gives me
power and joy to what i do...
